Technology
Over the past few years at EBCA, we have strived to improve the technology we offer to students, staff, and even parents. We have rebuilt our entire infrastructure, installed all new servers, quadrupled our internet connection speed, and installed a new firewall with internet content filtering. This has allowed our facility to have over 97% uptime since installation in the summer of 2004.
New PCs were purchased for the front offices and high school teachers. A new student records database program was implemented which interfaces with our electronic grading application. This system is used for all grade levels K-12. Each staff member now has an email address which allows for electronic communication between teachers and parents (See the staff profiles page for the email addresses.). Lord-willing, new PCs for the elementary teachers will be purchased and installed this year.
We have also re-designed our computer lab and installed a ceiling mounted projector with an interactive Smart Board. The Smart Board allows the teacher and students to interact during instruction and also allows students to demonstrate what they have learned. It has not only been used for computer classes but also has been beneficial for traditional, non-technical classes.
New TV/DVD/VHS units were also purchased for teachers to implement educational media in the classroom for their students.
A new mobile Science lab was purchased and installed for the HS Science curriculum and has been a wonderful "hands on" tool for the students.
Also, the EBCA yearbook is now done totally electronically and submitted for printing via the web. This is a new and exciting way for the yearbook staff to produce EBCA's yearbook.
Much prayer, thought, and effort have gone into these upgrades in order to present this growing area of the school in the best way possible. We are committed to continue moving forward in the technology program at EBCA. I Corinthians 10:31b states, "Whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." Our goal is that the students will use technology as a means to further prepare themselves to serve the Lord in whatever capacity to which they are called.
