Music
The purpose of the music program at EBCA is to give students the opportunity to minister with their musical abilities. Students learn basic music knowledge and develop their skills and a love for music that they will use in local churches around the community and around the world.
During the elementary years, the students build their knowledge of music in general music classes. Third and fourth graders learn to play the recorder and upper elementary students have the opportunity to learn an instrument and play in an ensemble. Junior and senior high students are able to develop their musical skills through the school choirs, KCEA competitions, All-State Choir, and All-State Band and the hand bell choir.
One way that our students are able to use their talents is by participating in special music for chapel. The hand bell choir also ministers in area nursing homes. In addition, EBCA students participate in annual Christmas and spring programs.
Our ultimate goal for students is to love God and praise Him through music. Ephesians 5:19 says "Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord." We want our students to love music and offer their sacrifice of praise unto God.
